Meet Pastor John

pastor John and wifePastor John and his wife, Darleen, have three grown sons: Nathan, Jordan ( married to Bethany), and Seth (married to Krystal). They also have a grandson, Matthias and a granddaughter, Hannah.

John and Darleen are graduates of Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. John then received a Masters of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 1978. He was ordained in the New York Conference as a deacon in ’77 and as an Elder in ’80. Together they have served churches in both New York and Connecticut for 37 years.

Pastor John is listed as a Pastoral Affiliate with the Restored Hope Network.

Pastor John’s emphasis in ministry is expository preaching from the Bible and missions so that God’s Word may be spread throughout our community and world.

Another important area of Christian growth that is foundational is encouraging men and women to take a servant leadership role within their homes and the church.

Pastor John strongly recommends a reading of the Manhattan Declaration. It is a statement of the traditional belief about life, marriage, and religious liberty. As the Lord leads you, go to and sign your name supporting the declaration.

Darleen and he enjoy camping, cross country skiing, and biking. They look forward to serving the churches of Modena and Trinity Parish beginning July 1, 2015.
